History
Back in 1997, something truly remarkable happened. The Women's Business Center of Utah was born - a public-private partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Salt Lake Chamber. With a mission to empower female entrepreneurs and provide them with the technical assistance they need to thrive, the center quickly became a beacon of hope for aspiring business owners across the state.
But this was just the beginning of an epic adventure. In 2016, WBCUtah set its sights on expanding its reach beyond the bustling Wasatch Front. Through a series of strategic partnerships with rural Chambers of Commerce, the center began to bring its life-changing resources and support to women in all corners of the state.
And then, in 2019, WBCUtah achieved something truly incredible. Thanks to an additional grant from the SBA, the center was able to open a second office in the vibrant city of Cedar City. This new location allowed the center to more effectively serve women business owners in Eastern and Southern Utah, bringing the power of entrepreneurship to even more communities.
Today, WBCUtah boasts the largest and most passionate team of experts dedicated to providing customized advising, education, and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs in every county of the state. They advocate tirelessly for entrepreneurship and encourage Utahns to buy, support, promote, and invest in locally-owned businesses.
